With the coming together of two award winning studios, Lat27 in Brisbane and Lat37 in Melbourne (formerly SJB Urban), LatStudios is now seeking an experienced, passionate Landscape Architect to join the leadership team of the Melbourne Studio as we combine our strengths to address the critical challenges of our time. This position is ideal for candidates looking to extend their practice and help build a new studio backed by the extensive support from an established and collaborative team of highly experienced professionals.
Candidates will be a leader in their field with excellent skills in client relationship building, marketing, project and staff management, critical assessment and teamwork. As an integral member of the management team, the candidate is required to actively contribute to securing new work, producing high quality proposals and delivering projects for our clients. Excellent communication skills will enable the candidate to represent the business and build the LatStudios culture and brand to our clients.
As a key team member, the Associate Director/Practice Director will also contribute to the existing collaborative and participative studio environment, actively seeking opportunities to mentor, teach and grow the teams’ skills and knowledge. Their responsibilities will include liaising with clients and the studio team to ensure design briefing and project expectations and quality are achieved at every stage.
The Associate Director/Practice Director is required to have advanced skills in the Adobe Suite, AutoCAD/Revit/Rhino or equivalent and the MS Office Suite and have experience and knowledge of the landscape construction industry including, the ability to negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure high-quality outcomes often within tight timeframes.
The Associate Director/Practice Director will be primarily responsible for preparation of proposals / bids for projects and project leadership including; design development, documentation and implementation of the built work. Key to the success of this role, will also be the candidate’s ability to collaborate with and assist the Lat37 Director in managing the studio.
