Northshore Activation is temporary parkland that connects Northshore Hamilton Park to the new Eat Street Markets while being an interim event and recreation space for new residences and the broader Brisbane public. The parkland reflects Economic Development Queensland commitment to the Northshore (PDA) becoming a vibrant, engaging and memorable urban community that celebrates its waterfront location.

The softscape is built up directly over the existing port facility slabs with highlights of recovered wharf timbers. Restored shipping buoys, nautical bollards and playful references to river life dot the landscape and a generous open lawn bridges ‘the deck’ pavilion and the space designed for a future recreational tennis facility. 

‘The Deck’ pavilion (designed by Anna O’Gorman) is the primary gathering spaces and acts as interpretive centre for Northshore. As like the landscape the pavilion components are prefabricated allowing for future relocation and adaption of built elements while utilising wharf timbers salvaged from the site.
