The provisions of the Planning Scheme required an approved Structure Plan to be in place prior to any significant development occurring within the LDA. The LDA is currently a large broad-hectare area where the resolution of constraints and confirmation of an appropriate pattern of development will allow Council to responsibly manage population and employment growth and respond to the identified opportunities and constraints of the LDA, whilst protecting the key values Southside.

Lat27 prepared the context and site assessment, structure plans and urban design strategies. Our approach was developed upon responsiveness to the intrinsic attributes of the site, the creation of a coherent and robust urban structure, seamless integration with nearby existing communities and a focus on fostering a sense of local place.
