LatStudios (trading as Lat27) was commissioned by AECOM to undertake a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) for Orange Creek Energy, which was informed by a site appraisal conducted in 2019. This Project has since transferred to EDF Renewables Australia.

The Project Site is located 20 km near the township of Biloela, and approximately 120 km southwest of port of Gladstone within the Banana Shire Council Area of Queensland.

The purpose of this assessment was to inform a development application lodged with the State Assessment and Referral Agency and assessed against P09 of the Wind Farm State Code 23 (DSDMIP, 2018), including assessment alongside national, regional and local planning and legislative context. AECOM produced the visualisations to support this LVIA.

The Project was initially assessed within the LVIA up to 51 wind turbines at up to 250 m high, which in 2024, has been amended in a renewed application to 41 wind turbines. The Project has confirmed planning approvals from the Queensland Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDMIP), and from the Federal Department of the Environment and Energy (DoEE). The wind farm is expected to be operational in 2026.
