LatStudios was commissioned by Attexo on behalf of CS Energy to undertake a Landscape and Visual Assessment (LVA) of the Brigalow Peaking Power Plant (formerly known as the Brigalow Peaking Power Station). The project is proposed approximately 5 km north of Kogan, Queensland and is located within the Western Downs Regional Council area.

This LVA contributed to the development approval (DA) application under the Western Downs Regional Planning Scheme for a Material Change of Use for Special Industry, and an application for an Environmental Authority for an Environmentally Relevant Activity.

The LVA report provided an assessment of the anticipated landscape and visual effects of the Project during construction and operation on the Site and its wider landscape context. It considered the impact of the gas to hydrogen power station and associated ancillary infrastructure in the context of the Western Downs high landscape value areas, local scenic routes and views that may be experienced within the area, including by tourists visiting the nearby Kogan Creek Power Station lookout.

LatStudios also produced artists illustrations of the project for use by the client in communicating the design of the project and the masterplan for the Kogan Green Energy Hub.

The Brigalow Peaking Power Plant is still in its stages of development, and is anticipated to be operational by mid-2027.
