LatStudios was commissioned by Attexo on behalf of CS Energy to undertake a Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) of the Greenbank Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project is situated within the locality of Greenbank and is located approximately 30 km southwest of Brisbane CBD within the Logan City Council area.

The VIA contributed to phase 1 of the project and supported an amendment application for a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID). This BESS is comprised of 108 x Tesla Megapacks 2XL Units and ancillary infrastructure, sufficient to power 66,000 homes for two hours in the evening peak.

Following fieldwork assessment in 2022, the VIA considered a range of factors, such as existing landscape character, potential project impacts upon the existing visual amenity values of the site and relevant legislation relating to potential visual impacts arising from the development of the project. LatStudios also prepared a landscape concept plan to assist integrate the project into its landscape context.

Construction commenced in 2023 and the Project is now operational.
