Project Details
The La Trobe Amenity Study was used to understand opportunities for public realm improvements throughout the campus and prioritise areas most requiring attention through the provision of a targeted list of recommendations.

The project kicked off with an in-depth audit of 8 key locations within the Bundoora University Campus using our inhouse audit tool, specifically developed to quantify the quality of a place using a range of best practice principles and categories.

Once each place had an initial audit score, LatStudios devised a list of recommended projects stemming from the lowest scoring principles/categories for each place, in an attempt to increase the place score if implemented and create a more enticing public realm.

The list of recommended projects was ranked in a campus wide list as well as a place specific list so that La Trobe could decide their preferred approach to staging. The final list considered expected timing, estimated cost and the University's capital works funding criteria to give La Trobe a clear strategy forward for upgrades. Catalyst projects as well as a pilot project were also identified as part of this process.
