The Moah Creek Wind Farm proposed by Central Queensland Power (a joint venture between RES Australia and Energy Estate) is located approximately 28 km west of Rockhampton within the Rockhampton Regional Council area of Queensland. The project proposed 60 wind turbines of up to 275 m to blade tip.

LatStudios was commissioned by Umwelt to undertake a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA), which included a site appraisal visit in 2021. An additional site visit was undertaken in 2023 to further consider the views of private rural residents living close to the proposed wind farm.

The LVIA responded to PO9 of the Wind Farm State Code 23 and the associated guidelines (DSDILGP, February 2022), along with planning polices of Central Queensland Regional Plan and the Rockhampton Regional Council for the project.

The project received approval from the Queensland State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) in August 2023. However, it is still awaiting Federal approval under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act. Subject to approvals, the Project is anticipated to be operational in 2028.
