Project Details
LatStudios worked with Archipelago and Bonacci Infrastructure on a new pedestrian and cycle bridge along the Parramatta River.

The importance of this infrastructure project as an urban design initiative goes well beyond its basic function as a bridge. The project represents a significant opportunity to create an urban gateway into the city along the Parramatta River as well as between neighbourhoods on either side of the river. This 'dual gateway' opportunity led to the development of early concept design responses to the challenge.

The new bridge sits centrally between two major drivers of pedestrian and cycling movement: the CBD and Western Sydney University. Further to this, urban expansion and densification immediately surrounding the Bridge will be supported by direct access to the proposed Light Rail Station on the corner of River Road West and Alfred Street.

The bridge officially opened on November 2023.
