Project Details
Logan's Slacks Creek is characterised by industrial use. But with a more strategic outlook, the wider catchment of the waterway possesses great potential to better connect and engage with environmental reserves, schools, and parklands to structure a comprehensive, interconnected green space network.

As part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team, LatStudios provided specialist landscape planning and design input into a strategic level master planning process which identified key initiatives, including:

  • Efficiently use of the diversity of water resources available;
  • Enhance and protect waterway health, including associated riparian zones and wetlands;
  • Mitigate against flood risk and damage;
  • Create public spaces that harvest, clean and recycle water, increase biodiversity and reduce urban heat island effects; and
  • Connect the public with place and nature, engendering community spirit and environmental responsibility and building knowledge and appreciation of the catchment's diverse environment.

The project drew on our expertise in urban design and public realm planning in the context of water smart, sub-tropical communities to develop a roadmap for a more resilient and healthy Slacks Creek.
