Project Details
This master plan captures the Community's and Council's collective vision for the Woolgoolga Town Centre.

It is both a framework for decision-making and an 'ideas map' to be embraced by community, local traders, business and government to enhance and grow the heart of the town in line with their vision.

In recent years, the completion of the Pacific Highway bypass and the addition of a new major retail chain supermarket have fundamentally changed the role and structure of Woolgoolga - a transformation from a thoroughfare to a destination town. The Town Centre can now focus outwardly and compete in the sub-region economy. Supporting this, the master plan:

  • Establishes a planning and urban design framework to guide growth and capture economic prosperity;
  • Delivers planned growth in a manner that responds to community values and existing township qualities;
  • Builds a first-class public realm with a transport system that supports a prosperous and vibrant town centre, and a healthy, happy, and connected community;
  • Capitalises on key opportunities and catalytic projects; and
  • Supports a sustainable future.
