Woorim Public Amenities

Project Details
LatStudios led the integrated architectural and landscape design for the Woorim Public Amenities Upgrade at Bluey Piva Park. Collaborating closely with the City of Moreton Bay, LatStudios successfully transformed the foreshore into a highly inclusive community hub.
True to our commitment to context responsive and sustainable design, the facility beautifully reflects the natural coastal beauty and unique cultural heritage of Bribie Island. The architecture and surrounding public realm were meticulously planned to ensure seamless, DDA compliant beach access for individuals of all abilities.
By integrating specialised features like the Changing Places hub, family change spaces, and dedicated beach wheelchair storage, LatStudios balanced complex functional accessibility with a beautiful aesthetic. Our approach treats the public realm as a vital stage for community life, ensuring that technical compliance did not compromise visual harmony.
The resulting facility serves as a critical piece of social infrastructure, enriching the beachfront experience and allowing everyone to safely and comfortably enjoy the Woorim Foreshore.
The architecture-led design by LatStudios for the Woorim public amenities delivers key community, environmental, and spatial benefits:
- Seamless Coast Connectivity: Integrates smooth, step-free pathways directly into the existing Woorim Beach infrastructure to offer barrier-free movement for all abilities.
- Contextual Landscape Harmony: Reflects the distinctive natural beauty, subtropical character, and local cultural heritage of Bribie Island within the physical layout.
- Enhanced Inclusivity Infrastructure: Provides purpose-built spaces to support people with high support needs, including a dedicated Changing Places facility and specialised beach wheelchair storage.
- Long-Term Environmental Responsibility: Prioritises sustainability throughout the architectural and site layouts to safeguard the fragile coastal foreshore environment.
- Welcoming Civic Gathering Space: Reimagines Bluey Piva Park as a safer, highly functional public domain featuring enhanced lighting, visual clarity, and tactile ground indicators.
