The Link formed part of the earlier programs that is realising the transformation of Chadstone into an internationally recognised lifestyle and entertainment destination.

While the primary function of the link was the facilitation of pedestrian movement, the desire was to elevate the connection an experience equal to the high end look and feel of the precinct.

A restrained evergreen palette of grasses, shrubs and climbers are set in a series of folded metal planters that cascade along the stairs and escalators in arrangements to frame numerous seating nooks along the journey. At the lower level, a more generous flexible space for events and pop ups is punctuated with a deciduous flowering mature tree.

The entire walkway is sheltered by a dramatic, cathedral-style structure with permeable edges (designed by Make Architects) and draws inspiration from the existing iconic arched glass roofs of the shopping centre.
