Marina's work at LatStudios spans landscape planning, landscape and visual impact assessment, strategic planning and place-based projects across renewable energy, infrastructure, urban and strategic projects within Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
Her approach is grounded in research, observation and an understanding of the relationships between landscape, planning and place. Her work considers landscape character, environmental and cultural context, policy and planning frameworks, community perspectives, and how these inform practical project outcomes. She has experience contributing to community consultation and engagement processes, and holds a certification in engagement from the Engagement Institute.
Her previous professional experience in project coordination brings an additional perspective to her landscape practice, supporting a practical and collaborative approach to working across multidisciplinary teams.
Marina was awarded the 2022 Karl Langer Award and the 2022 Landscape Architecture Australia Student Prize for her QUT Honours project Opal Imaginary, which explored the cultural and landscape dimensions of opal mining landscapes in South West Queensland.
