Lat27 is honoured to be one of the five local designers selected by Brisbane City Council to create a visionary idea for a world-class parkland at Victoria Park/Barrambin.

Our vision ‘Barrambin: Reconnection & Restoration of Place’ presents a 50 Year vision celebrating over 65,000 years of culture.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to reshape the city around deeper understanding of cultural and natural systems through:

  • Recognition: creating a place to respectfully celebrate the connection between culture and nature
  • Restoration: celebrating our unique, interwoven landscape and ecosystems
  • Reconnection: making transformational connections that stitch the parkland back into the city

The vision captures the breadth of the opportunity with a Centre for Indigenous Culture at its heart. As a great public park for locals and visitors alike it will provide places for gathering, quiet morning walks, opportunities for education and numerous links to the city and adjacent communities.

Feedback is welcome online or through the public consultation sessions around Brisbane. Feedback for this phase ends on the 29th September.
